All Honor Flight veterans are accompanied by a “guardian”. The guardian is an able-bodied adult who accompanies the veteran throughout the trip and assists the veteran, as needed, with boarding/deplaning aircraft and charter buses, pushing the veteran in a wheelchair, ensuring the veteran has sufficient water and food throughout the trip, and providing other needed support to the veteran.
Guardians must be at least 18 years of age and older. The cost to become a guardian is approximately $1500-$2000. The trip is free to all veterans who apply and are approved by our staff.
