3-DAY SAMPLE HONOR FLIGHT ITINERARY
Our 3-Day Honor Flight is a transformative journey for the very bravest in our country. Our first flight is tentatively scheduled for April 28-30, 2025.
Day 1: Departure - A Hero's Journey Begins
Our journey commences as we depart from Santa Rosa's Sonoma County Airport (STS), bound for an unforgettable adventure. Check-in begins at 5:30 a.m. for a 7:30 a.m. departure. Due to fuel considerations, our flight will refuel in Kansas City before landing in Baltimore or one of the two Washington airports. Arrival time is estimated at 5:30 p.m. EDT. We will be traveling via Alaska Airlines Charter.
A Grand Welcome
Upon our arrival at the airport, our veterans will receive a heartwarming welcome. A dedicated group of individuals will be present to inform others about the arrival of our flight, carrying the courageous men and women who defended our nation. Seeing a crowd waving flags and holding signs will serve as a powerful symbol of our gratitude.
Day 2: A Day of Discovery and Remembrance
On the second day of our journey, we embark on a full day of tours dedicated to honoring our veterans' service and sacrifice. Here's what to expect:
Memorial Tours with Police Escort
After breakfast at the hotel, our heroes will then board three or four buses for transportation to their memorials. A box lunch will be provided.
Celebratory Dinner
We'll gather at the hotel in the evening for a celebratory dinner. It's a unique opportunity for our veterans to share stories, reminisce, and connect with fellow heroes. It's a time to reflect on their remarkable service and the camaraderie that transcends generations.
Day 3: A Journey of Gratitude Continues
As we approach the third day of our journey, we will continue to express our gratitude to our remarkable veterans.
Local Tour and Welcome Home
On the third day, our veterans will embark on a local tour by bus, exploring the area and taking in its rich history. Later in the day, we will return to Santa Rosa, where a special welcome awaits.
A Hero's Welcome Home
On the evening of April 30, local citizens will gather to give our veterans the welcome home they never received. Arrival time will be approximately 6:00 p.m. PDT. It's a moment of heartfelt gratitude as we honor these brave men and women who have given so much to our nation. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
